Description

This is the Gin that started it all for us. In the early days we tried countless different variations of botanicals until we landed on this perfect mix and we knew straight away it was the one. Big Seven London Dry is a complex, smooth Gin that carries and explosion of flavour with one hell of a finish.

Taste

Big Seven is complex and well balanced Gin which begins with a strong and sharp Juniper flavour. The Lemongrass and Grapefruit Peel ensure the taste of the gin is light and citrusy throughout and the Bay Leaf keeps is fresh. Chamomile gives a beautiful long lasting floral finish with Angelica Root and Cassia Bark keeping the whole taste warm and rich throughout.

Botanicals

As the name states this Gin is distilled with no less than seven botanicals which are Juniper, Lemongrass, Angelica Root, Cassia Bark, Chamomile, Grapefruit Peel & Bay Leaf.

Serves

A very versatile gin owing to the many taste qualities it holds. Big Seven makes a strong and hearty G&T. The citrusy warmth pairs it beautifully with Campari in a Negroni but where it really shines is in the daddy of all cocktails – a Martini. Top Tip: Dirty the Martini with a peated whisky to really bring it to life.

CHAMOMILE & GRAPEFRUIT MARTINI

You’ll need: 75ml Big Seven Gin, 25ml Hot Water, 2 Teaspoons Honey, Chamomile Tea Bag, 15ml White Vermouth, 15ml Grapefruit Juice, Martini Glass

Method

1. Load up the Martini Glass with ice and set aside.

2. Put the Chamomile Tea Bag in 25ml of hot water and stir in 2 teaspoons of Honey until you get a consistent colour throughout.

3. Fill a shaker with 2/3 ice and add all ingredients.

4. Shake for 15 seconds.

5. Empty the ice from the Martini Glass before you double strain the ingredients from the shaker into the Martini Glass.

GRAPEFRUIT & BASIL GIN SMASH

You’ll need: 60ml Big Seven Gin, 25ml Lemon Juice, 15ml Grapefruit Juice, 6-8 Basil Leaves, Tumbler

Method

1. Tear the Basil Leaves and slap then in your hands to release the oils before dropping them into a shaker.

2. Add remaining ingredients (except Grapefruit Juice) and muddle the Basil.

3. Add ice and shake for 15 seconds.

4. Double Strain into an ice filled Tumbler and pour in the Grapefruit Juice.

CHAMOMILE GIN SOUR

You’ll need: 60ml Big Seven Gin, 30ml Lemon Juice, 2 Teaspoons Honey, 1 Chamomile Tea Bag, 15ml Hot Water, Egg White, Slice of Lemon.

Method

1. Pour 15ml of hot water into a cup with the Chamomile Tea Bag and stir in the Honey to set aside until Step 4.

2. Separate the Egg Yolk from the Egg White and ensure only Egg White goes in the Shaker. Dry shake (No ice, just Egg White) for 30 seconds.

3. Add Lemon Juice and ice to the shaker and shake again for 30 seconds.

4. Add the remaining ingredients (minus the Tea Bag) for a final shake of 30 seconds.

5. Double strain into an ice filled Tumbler and add Lemon for garnish.
